Rough Supply Company started because I couldn't find enough of the rough I wanted to cut.

As a faceter, I was always looking for something a little different—higher-end garnets, larger unheated sapphires, rare tourmalines, and interesting material that made me want to sit down at the machine and start cutting.

There are good rough suppliers in Canada, but I saw room for a different kind of selection. I wanted to build a collection around the material that excites me as a cutter: beautiful colour, interesting origins, unusual stones, and rough with the potential to become something exceptional.

That's what Rough Supply Company has become. I source rough that I would genuinely want to cut myself, describe it as honestly as I can, and make it available to other cutters without the headache of sourcing everything individually from around the world.
